このインスタレーション・アート・プロジェクトは、海外のフィリピン人労働者(OFW)がもたらした現代的な快適さと心のこもったパサルポン(おみやげ)のメタファーとして、包装素材を使用しています。古代のカラコア戦士のように、OFW は慣れない土地を旅しますが、現在はもっぱら飢えを克服し、経済的安定を得るための旅をしています。この作品では彼らの立ち直る力を認
め、過去と現在の並行する物語に敬意を表し、カラコア戦士の不朽の精神と今日の OFW の勇気に光を当てています。
This installation art project uses packaging materials as a metaphor for the modern comforts and heartfelt pasalubong (souvenir) brought by overseas Filipino workers (OFW). Like the ancient Karakoa warriors, the OFWs navigate unfamiliar lands, but now exclusively to conquer hunger and achieve economic stability. This work recognizes their resilience and pays homage to the parallel narratives of past and present, shedding light on the enduring spirit of the Karakoa warriors and the courage of today’s OFWs.
