初めてこの建物に入った 10 年前には、ここはすでに人の手を離れていた。人の生活の痕跡は変わらずここにあるが、ゆっくりと土に戻っていく木材や畳が、確かに動き続けていることを私に教えてくれる。
今回、人が住まなくなって久しいこの家屋自体を素材として捉え、向き合っていく。
そもそも「家」とは私たちがこの無限の世界の中で、コントロールできる領域を自らで定めたものだ。私にはそれが人そのもののあり様と重なって見える。私はコントロールから外れた「家」から、この世界との繋がりを確認していく。
When I first entered this house ten years ago, it was already abandoned. It seems as if the traces of human life are still here, but the wood and tatami mats, which are gradually returning to the soil, tell me that they are indeed continuing to move. For this project, I will confront the house itself, which has long since ceased to be inhabited, by considering it as a material. A “home”
is what we define for ourselves as the area we can control in this boundless world. To me, it seems to overlap with the way people themselves are. I confirm the connection to this world from “home” which is out of control.
