セザンヌを名乗る犬 The Dog Who Calls Himself Cézanne

セザンヌは喋る犬です。ある日玄関で物音がするので開けてみると彼がいました。
セザンヌが犬として目覚めたとき、その前の日にプロヴァンスの教会で日曜のミサに行っていたことはかろうじて覚えていたそうですが、そのほかの記憶は“もや”がかかったように曖昧だと言います。ここ何日かをともに過ごしているうちに、少しずつではありますが思い出すものがあり、それを聞いているとやはり彼の記憶がこの時代のものではないように思います。彼はもしやあのセザンヌなのではないか。
この展示が始まる頃には、彼自身の記憶ももう少し戻っているだろうと期待しています。

Cézanne is a talking dog. One day I heard a noise at the front door and opened it to find him. When Cézanne woke up as a dog, he said he barely remembered going to Sunday mass in a church in Provence the day before, but his other memories are hazy. As we have spent the last few days together, he has regained bits and pieces of memories, and listening to them I still think his memory is not modern. He may be that Cézanne. We expect that by the time this exhibit opens, he will have regained a little more of his own memory.
