福岡伸一著『動的平衡』によれば、生命現象の核心を解くキーワード、それは「動的平衡」(dynamic equilibrium ダイナミック・イクイリブリアム )。
老子や荘子の「気」の思想において、宇宙は「気」の動的平衡と考える。また、気が生命力や活動力の根源でもあると考えた。私は、様々な筆致の運用に基づいて仮山石(庭石、文人石)を画面に描き出すことである。ここで、「気韻生動」という概念の意味の重要さを再認識するとともにその概念の現代芸術表現上の新たな可能性として再検討しようと試み制作を進行させた。
