光は変容します。カーテン越しに差し込む夏の太陽による早起き。冬の極北のヨーロッパで夕日と目を合わせてする自分探し。鬱蒼とした森、曲がりくねった細い道を進めば、少し雲が動いただけで降り注ぐ陽光。見慣れた場所も、わずかな光の変化で新しく生まれ変わります。これらの瞬間は、ただ存在するということ、感覚を取り入れて足元の地面や顔に当たる風を感じることを思い出させてくれます。このような瞬間が特別なのは、その儚さゆえかもしれません。あるいは、人類の進化に根ざした美学、本来的な「美」が内在しているのかもしれません。古代文明は、冬至のようなつかの間の瞬間を利用するために古墳や
墓を建てました。適切な瞬間、適切な場所で、光は変容をもたらします。

Light transforms. Waking up early with the summer sun beaming in through the curtains. Finding yourself eye to eye with the setting sun in the far north of Europe in winter. Following winding narrow roads under thick forest, and with just a little movement of cloud finding yourself showered in beams of sunlight. Familiar places are rendered anew with just a shift in light.

These moments are a reminder to just be, to take in sensations and feel the ground under your feet, the breeze on your face.
Perhaps it is the transient nature of moments like these that makes them so special, or there may be some inherent ‘beauty’,
an aesthetic rooted in human evolution. Ancient civilisations built burial mounds and tombs to harness ephemeral moments
like these during winter solstice. At just the right moment, in the right place, light can be transformative.
