蚕は人間に馴化され、野生回帰能力を完全に失った唯一の変温動物とされている。
養蚕の起源は新石器時代からと言われ、品種改良や人工孵化などにより家畜化され、現在は衰退の一途をたどる。
本作は、蚕という種をメタファーとして、人類の進化を象徴化する試みである。
Silkworms are the only cold-blooded animals that have been tamed by humans and completely lost their ability to return to the wild. Sericulture, believed to have originated in the Neolithic period, involves the domestication of silkworms through selective breeding and artificial hatching. However, it is currently experiencing a decline. This work is an attempt to symbolize the evolution of mankind using the silkworm as a metaphor.
