本作品では、中之条町の伝統民芸品「こんこん草履」にまつわる労働する身体の記憶と、人間の作業に関わる記憶領域について扱っています。モニターには職人の女性により撮影された映像が時折映されます。しかし、彼女はこんこん草履を製作せずに手を動かしています。 『KonKon』に参加する鑑賞者は、インタラクティブな作品の複数の音声や指示によりゲームにいざなわれ、プログラムされたサウンドアプリは鑑賞者それぞれの体験から構築された記憶を音として翻訳します。 このゲームは、世代を超えた音との遭遇の場を提示することを目指しています。
KonKon deals with the traditional craft of guest shoes. The memory of the working body is understood as an archival space of action. In videos filmed by the craftswomen, they perform the work without producing the objects. In the interactive installation, a moderator and a choir guide the visitor through a game. A sound app translates the unique memory of each visitor of the working process into a composition. The game character is intended to offer a stage for an intergenerational sound encounter.
