人の記憶は外の影響を受け、いつも無意識の中で変化しています。あの日の風景はプロの写真に書き換えられ、街の歴史はいつしか自分の経験になり、SNS で見た他人の怒りは自分の怒りにすり替わります。意図しないところから自分たちの記憶が侵食されていくとするならば、個人の記憶や思い出は果たしてどこまで信用できるのでしょうか。個人の記憶が個人のものでなくなったとした時、人を形作るものは何なのでしょうか。過去と現在、映像、メディア、キュレーションなどを横断しながら、人の記憶の連続性について考えます。
People’s memories are affected by outside influences and are always changing in their unconscious. Professional photos rewrite the scenery of that day. The history of the city someday becomes our own experience, and our own anger replaces the anger of others we see on social networking sites. If our memories are being eroded from unintended sources, how much can we really trust our personal memories and recollections? When personal memories are no longer personal, what shapes a person? We will consider the continuity of human memory, crossing past and present, images, media, and curation.
