疫病、飢饉や戦争など人間が歴史的に遭遇する“悪”に対して、アートがどのように向き合って克服してきたか。「Grandi Mostri Ci Accompagnano- 大きな怪物たちと連れ立って -」 をテーマに、 悪への脅威を遠ざけるためにアートを通して人間が何を表現してきたかを改めて自身の中で問いたい。ガラス越しに内部を見るという視覚を与える伊勢町民家の特徴が、 現代のスクリーン越しに見るオンラインの世界を連想させる。内部全体が１つの繋がったイメージとなっており、アナログで架空世界を窓越しに見ているような視覚体験をもたらす。
Art has faced and overcome the “evil” that humans have historically encountered, such as plague, famine, and war. Following the theme of “Grandi Mostri Ci Accompagnano -The Great Monsters Accompany Us,” I ask what humans have expressed through art to keep the threat of evil away. Isemachi house’s visual characteristic of viewing the inside through the window glass is reminiscent of the online world seen through a computer screen. The whole interior is a connected image, which provides a visual experience that makes you feel as if you are looking through a window in an analog, online fictional world.
