昔々、大きくて広い池がありました。そこに人々が集い、縄文時代より暮らしを営んできました。後に養蚕業で栄える赤岩です。昭和の初めには近くを鉄鉱石を運ぶ機関車が走りました。現在、当時の面影を垣間見ることのできる建物と家並みが残ります。

A long, long time ago, there was a large and wide pond. Many people used to gather and live together there during the Japanese Jomon period. There, the Akaiwa area would later prosper through the silkworm industry. At the beginning of the Showa era, a locomotive carrying iron ore ran nearby. Now, we can see how it used to be back in those days through watching the view of Akaiwa.
