この酒造を初めて訪れた時、廃業して長い時間が経っているこの空間を見て、終わりという出来事よりも、不在、忘却、眠りというワードが思い浮かんだ。かつてここで作られた日本酒はどんな味がしたのだろう。また、この地には忍びに関する伝承があった。忍びが活躍した時代は日本酒の製法が民間に広がり流通したのとほぼ同時期だと言われている。この二つの出来事と、史実を手繰り寄せて物語を紡いでいく。正史と神話。歴史と物語。虚構と現実。都市と地方。私たちが語り継ぐべき話は永遠に無くならないだろう。
When I first visited this brewery, I saw a space that had been out of business for a long time. The words “absence,” “oblivion,” and “sleep” came to mind. I wondered what the sake made here tasted like in the past.
Also, there was a tradition about ninjas in this area. It is said that ninjas were active around the same time the sake-making process spread to the private sector. The story weaves together these two events and historical facts. True history and myth. History and story. Fiction and reality. Urban and rural. The stories we have to tell will never disappear.
