中山晃子による絵と、パスパルトゥー・デュオの音によるコラボレーションプロジェクト。中之条の豊富な水源と墨流し技法にインスピレーションを得て、オンライン共同制作がはじまりました。中山の絵をパスパルトゥー・デュオに送信、プログラミングを介し、色彩によって直接音が変化します。色と音の動きは、まるで催眠術師による新しい祭祀、絶えず変化する形を通してあらゆる意味が示唆されます。作品を通して自然現象を経験しながら、私たちの知識が及ばない物事を反映するための余白を残します。

“Natural Frequencies” is filmed live painting performance by Akiko Nakayama with sound created by Passepartout Duo. Inspired by the abundance of water sources in the Nakanojo area and by personal fascinations with the tradition of suminagashi, we created this performance of live painting that directly controls the sound creation. The movement of the colors becomes the hypnotic protagonist of a new ritual, suggests meanings through ever changing shapes, and leaves space to reflect upon what eludes our knowledge while experiencing natural phenomena.
