二つのビデオ作品はダンテの神曲より、天国と地獄という世界観をこの世を織り成す二元性に喩えています。煉獄という中間地点を現世として見ると、 一つの状況は、内面の動きによってどちらの世界観にも移動する事を体験、記録したパフォーマンス作品です。会場では、コントラストのある２つの音源を上下出力に分け、バランスをとりながら平均台を歩く事は、二つの音が混じり合う煉獄で、その焦点について提議しています。知覚の焦点は個人の意識によって決定されることを表現しながら、バランスという中庸の理論を引き出しています。
The two video works are based on Dante’s Divine Comedy, where the worldview of heaven and hell is compared to the duality of this world. Looking at the middle point of purgatory as this world, this performance work documents the experience of a situation that can move to either worldview depending on the internal movement. Walking on the averaging table while balancing two contrasting sound sources, one above and one below in the exhibition space, suggests the focus of the two mixed sounds in purgatory. Expressing that the individual’s consciousness determines the focus of perception brings out a moderate theory of balance.
