このあたり一帯は国の景観保護地区に指定されている。展示場所の湯本家は町指定の重要文化財でもあり、建物自体に手をかけることが制限されている。では、建物の土台にあたる土はどういった扱いだろう。足元の土は、家屋の壁に隔てられることなく建物の外へと繋がっている。その先の家々や、奥にある山へも連なっているかもしれない。そのことが面白いと感じた。土を起点に、境目を整え、繋げてみることを試みたい。「土」と「連なり」にまつわる作品を作ってみたいと思った。
This area has been designated as a scenic conservation district. Also, the Yumotoke is designated as an important cultural property by the town, so it is restricted to renovate or modify the body of this house. However, what about the soil foundation? The soil under our feet is connected to the outside of the building without separation by the walls of the house. It might be connected to the neighborhood or the mountains beyond here. This idea inspires me. From this point of view, I would like to try shifting the borders by organizing and connecting them. I hope to create an artwork concerning “soil” and “range.”
