板の中にいる In the Board
板には人の頭部から胴体にかけて側面の輪郭が切り出されている。それは実在の人物から型取ったものである。それぞれ異なる姿勢の輪郭を切り出し、そこに該当する人物がはまり込むことで板を空間に立ち上げている。板の中に人物が“いる”時は「パフォーマンス」として、“いない”時は「立体物」として構成された作品である。板の中にいる間、彼らはそれぞれ目を閉じて身体を静止させ、板との関わりに徹する。人物の存在 / 不在による空間への直接的な介入を通して、身体に潜む異質性、あるいは非身体性を、板との関係を通して示す。
The outline of people’s figures, the side view from head to torso, is cut out of wooden boards. The shapes were modeled after real people. Each outline is cut out in a different posture, and each board is made to stand up in space by fitting the corresponding person into it. When the person is inside the board, the work is a “performance,” but when they are not inside, the work is composed as a “three-dimensional object.” While the person is inside the board, they close their eyes, keep their bodies still, and focus on being in the board. Throughout the direct intervention in the space by the presence/absence of the figures, the heterogeneity, or non-physicality hidden in the body, is shown on the relationship with the board.
