中之条産業近代史 Nakanojo Modern Industrial History

明治以降、日本の近代化はここ中之条にも及んだ。群馬鉄山と太子駅、養蚕、中之条に隣接する八ッ場ダムなど、首都圏に資源を供給する機能としての役割をになってきた。一方、温泉街は人々に癒しをもたらすべく発展した。中之条の産業近代史を振り返る。

Since the Meiji era (1868-1912), Japan’s modernization has also reached Nakanojo. The Gunma iron mine and Ohshi Station, sericulture, and the Yamba Dam adjacent to Nakanojo have all played a role in supplying resources to the Tokyo metropolitan area. On the other hand, the hot spring resort area has developed to bring healing to the people. This work looks back at Nakanojo’s modern industrial history.
