With only a wooden frame and a roof, this building seemed to assimilate with nature, even though it was man-made. In the midst of a rich natural environment, the accumulation of various scenes of human activity, former scenes, and changing social conditions, all of which are slowly changing, have become the landscape of Satoyama. The fact that timber was laid out in a building that was once the drying shed of a timber wholesaler
was also part of the scene. The structure and the surrounding terrain become part of the device to capture the scene of Satoyama from various perspectives, high and low, and to bring to life the myriad of views reflected in the three-dimensional work. Nature, human activity, and the surrounding context transform the myriad of scenes collected. They influence each other and once again become part of an ever-changing landscape.
