「月が眠る山」は、中之条で生まれたテーマです。「沢渡温泉の有笠山の頂上には池がある」 …という伝説を地元に人から聞いたときに浮かんだ映像…「池があるのなら、その水面に月が映るだろう」 …このイメージが彫刻になったのです。山の上庭園の草花と木々の間にそびえる私の山々は、四季折々の彩りの中に佇みます。

“Mountain the Moon Sleeps” is a theme born in Nakanojo. The scene came to my mind when I heard the local people say, “There is a pond at the top of Mt. Arikasa in Sawatari Onsen.” This sculpture was created based on the image that, “If there were a pond, the Moon would see her own face on the surface of the water.” My “mountains,” which rise between the flowers and trees in the Yamanoue garden, stand still in the colors of the four seasons.
