「観光すること」とはどのようなことなのだろうか？観光大国としての日本と、温泉地。そして、現在、観光業は大きな打撃を受け、今までにない困難な状況となっている。私たち夫婦がプライベートな「旅行」「観光」といったものを通じ、見聞きしたもの、感じたものを漫画と絵画に置き換える。そして架空の団体「温泉芸術研究所」を通じて、歴史的な文脈と観光への繋がりを独自に解釈する。

What does it mean to go “sightseeing?” Japan is a major tourist destination and a hot spring resort. Today, the tourism industry has been hit hard, and the situation is more difficult than ever. Through our private “travel” and “sightseeing,” we as married couples have translated what we have seen, heard and felt into manga and paintings. And through the fictional organization “Onsen Art Research Institute,” we will interpret the historical
context and its connection to tourism in our own way.
