Sotaro Sato, a long-time researcher of Indian stone Buddhas, presents an exhibition of works that channel the essence of “Buddha” through scent, color, and shape. He will also give a special performance in front of his art, expressing “Buddha” through the sound of Tibetan bowls, played in his own uniquely cultivated style. On September 30, he will be joined in a collaborative performance by Daisuke Aoki, a master of the Zampoña, a traditional Andean folk instrument. Mr. Aoki brings 25 years of experience to the stage, having originally learned his craft from a native Peruvian player.
