うつろい Utsuroi
体温が蒸気になった。
有害駆除の解体現場を見学させてもらった。
大きな鹿だ。
冬の冷たい夜、
腹を開くと湯気が立ち
さっきまで毛皮が守っていた体温は
忽ち空に溶けていった。
その様子が脳裏に焼き付いている。
皮たちは今
透け、通る光を柔らかくしている。
その光の温度があの時の湯気を連想させる。
彼らのうつろいゆく姿に尊さを感じると共に
この星で私たち人間は
他の生き物と共に生き、生かされていることを改めて認識する。
Body heat turned to steam.
I was given the opportunity to observe the butchering site of deer for wildlife management.
It was a large deer.
It was a cold winter night,
the steam rose from its belly when they cut it open.
Body heat that was protected by the fur suddenly melted into the air.
The image is stuck in my head.
The skins are now
transparent, softening the light passing through them.
The warmth of the light reminds me of the steam from their body.
I feel a sense of dignity in their changing figure, as I realize that we are kept alive by them, that we’re living together with other living beings on this planet.
