日本人のマンガ家田村吉康と、ウクライナ人写真家 マルファ･ヴァシリーヴァが2016年から開始したコラボレーション。
田村吉康がモデルの身体に直接ボディペインティングし、マルファがロケーションやポーズを決定し、撮影している。
ボディペイントの内容は日本の古事記などの神話を題材としている。
ウクライナにおける戦争勃発以降、制作はストップしていたが、今回の中之条ビエンナーレ2025では新作の制作も行われる。2023年にオランダ KYAS ART SALONより作品集が刊行された。
These works are the result of a collaborative project initiated in 2016 by Japanese manga artist Tamura Yoshiyasu and Ukrainian photographer Marfa Vasilieva. In this series, Tamura applied body painting directly onto the models’ bodies, while Vasilieva selected the locations and poses and photographed the final compositions. The body painting motifs are inspired by Japanese mythology, particularly stories from the Kojiki (Records of Ancient Matters). Production was suspended following the outbreak of war in Ukraine; however, new works are expected to be created for the Nakanojo Biennale 2025. A collection of the collaborative works was published in 2023 by KYAS ART SALON in the Netherlands.
