日本とフィンランドのデュオ、セキ・イコネンは中之条での制作滞在中、様々なサークル活動に参加する。ハーモニカの練習、花植え、ホタル追い、語学交流、薪割りなど、地域の共同活動に加わることで、山間部での社会的なつながりがどのように形成されているのかを探った。この没入型かつ参加型のアプローチを通じて、セキ・イコネンは各サークルの性格に応じたオリジナルの贈り物を感謝の気持ちとして制作。トラヤでのインスタレーションでは、それらの贈り物が彫刻作品として、贈呈の様子を記録した映像作品と併せて展示される。
During a month-long residency in June 2025, the Japanese-Finnish artist duo Seki Ikonen invited themselves to social club gatherings across Nakanojo, joining in harmonica practice, flower planting, firefly chasing, language bathing, firewood cutting, and other communal activities in a quest to understand how mountain networks take shape. Through this immersive, participatory approach, the artists created bespoke gifts as gestures of reciprocity, responding to the nature of each club. The installation at Toraya presents these gifts as sculptural works, accompanied by video documentation of the gifting ceremonies.
