気の所為 Ki no Sei

見えていない時にも、それは存在しています。ここは夜道がとても暗いです。夜に車を走らせると、ヘッドライトの光を照らして初めてその存在が見えてきます。そして光で照らしていない時、暗闇の中にも、それは存在し続けています。

手描きのアニメーションは、断片的な記憶の連なりです。私は印象から描きます。描くことで目に見えるものとなります。空白は語られなかった記憶のようなものです。見えるものと見えないものの間には、ぼんやりとした境界が静かに揺れているのかもしれません。

Even when unseen, it is. The roads at night here are very dark. When I drive at night and my headlights pass over them, I see them. Outside of that, they still exist in the dark.

Hand-drawn animation is a sequence of fragmented memories. I draw from impressions. What is drawn can be seen. The empty spaces are like memories left unspoken. Between the visible and the invisible, a blurry boundary may be quietly moving.
