鉱物採掘の記憶はどのように位置づけられているのか？生命力、時間性、場所、山、そして宇宙的な帰属を象徴する鉄鉱石は、進歩、採掘、技術によって形作られてきた。それはメディアとなり、記憶となる。「テルセイラ・ペドラ」は、中之条における鉱物採掘の中断の記憶と、日本の主要な鉄鉱石供給国であるブラジルが、何十年にもわたる採掘型鉱業によって引き起こされた環境破壊や先住民の土地への侵入に直面しているという事実とのつながりを映し出している。

How is the memory of mineral extraction positioned? Iron ore, which is vitality, temporality, place, mountain, and cosmological belonging, has been shaped by progress, extraction, and technology. It becomes media and memory. Terceira Pedra reflects on the memory of the halted mineral extraction in Nakanojo and the fact that Brazil—one of Japan’s main iron ore suppliers—currently faces environmental disasters and Indigenous land invasions caused by decades of extractivist mining.
