1977年、ボイジャー探査機が打ち上げられた。そこに搭載されたレコード盤には、飛行中遭遇する何らかの知的生命体に向けて、地球上で聞こえる様々な音が収められていた。
ゴールデンレコードである。
そこから遭遇者は私たちの何を掴むだろうか。
送り込まれた情報を拾い上げ、つなぎ、全体像を作り上げていくことは、ゴールデンレコードを解読する行為に近い。やませの断片を描くことから始めた制作は、史実とも未来予想ともつかぬ、それでもリアリティーを伴って立ち現れる像に帰着することを目指した。
私はこの地との遭遇者である。

In 1977, Voyager was launched with a disc. The disc contained various sounds heard on Earth, in case the spacecraft encountered any intelligent extraterrestrial life form during its flight. We call the disc the Golden Record. What will the life form find from the sounds? Picking up the information, combining it all together, and creating pictures might be similar to deciphering the sounds. The production, which began by painting a piece of an old house, Yamase, aimed to result in an image that could be neither historical fact nor a prediction of the future, but which nonetheless has a sense of reality. I am a life form that encountered this land.
