1992 年、毛利衛が宇宙へ行った。
当時描かれた来るべき 21 世紀の未来予想図は、月面基地や宇宙旅行の夢に溢れていた。その様は「国家」や「戦争」という人類に不可欠な要素が描かれなかった故に、現実と大きく乖離した。
そこにあったのはユートピアであり、別世界のおはなしである。
1 世紀から 3 世紀にかけて栄えたクシャナ朝の仏像を観る機会があった。それは近未来的な現実味を孕んでいた。
既に滅びた歴史は、いつか私たちにも起こるディストピアとしての未来と重なり、文明がループする。いま見る宇宙開発の記録は、仏像がもつ近未来観を含んでいる。
飛行士がヒーローになったことも、崇められる仏像に似ている。
In 1992, Mamoru Mohri went to space.
The future projections of the coming century drawn at that time were full of dreams of lunar bases and space journey. Such a situation is far from reality because the indispensable elements of “nation” and “war” are not drawn. It was a Utopia, a different story.
I had the opportunity to see the Kushan Buddha statues that flourished from the 1st to the 3rd centuries. They were showing forthcoming future we would have. The ruined history overlaps with the future as a Dystopia that will happen to us someday, and civilization repeats.
The record of space development we see now contains a view of future that Buddha statue has.
The fact that the aviator became a hero is similar to the fact that the Buddha statue exists as an object of worship.
