珍品博覧会 Curiosities Exhibition
各地の温泉街には、公衆浴場はもちろん不思議なお土産もの屋さん、秘宝館など、一足踏み入れると別世界の、非日常への入り口があります。
私たちは、四万をはじめとする温泉伝説、公衆浴場文化、山岳信仰、中之条に息づく今昔の動植物たちから着想を得て、お互いの対話からイメージを膨らませ作品を制作します。それらをアートビレッジ四万の空間にコレクションすることで、元来古今東西の珍品・秘宝を収蔵した施設である「秘宝館」をコンセプトに、鑑賞者を非日常空間へと招待します。
In each hot spring resort area, there is a gateway to another world of the extraordinary, not to mention public bathhouses, mysterious souvenir shops, hidden treasure museums, and so on. We are inspired by the legends of Shima and other hot springs, the culture of public bathhouses, mountain worship, and the plants and animals of the past and present that live in Nakanojo. We create works of art by developing our images through mutual dialogue. By collecting these works in Art Village Shima, we invite visitors to an extraordinary space based on the concept of a “hidden treasure museum,” a facility that originally housed rare and hidden treasures from all ages and cultures.
