廃墟となったやませの農家跡で、ドイツと日本の二つの芸術的視点、トーマス・メイと江上弘が出会います。二人は長年にわたるコラボレーションを通じて、場所・空間・文脈への感受性を共有してきました。グラスハルム・インスティテュートの創設者であるメイは、草を生きた素材として用い、人と自然の関係性を探ります。江上は、光とエネルギーに呼応しながら、空間の雰囲気を詩的な存在へと変容させます。二人はかつての宿場町近くで、生きた異文化が交差する、サイトスペシフィックなインスタレーションを創り上げます。
In the abandoned farmhouse complex of Yamase, two artistic positions from Germany and Japan come together: Thomas May and Hiroshi Egami. Linked through years of collaboration, they share a sensitivity to place, space, and context. May, founder of the GrashalmInstitute, works with grass as a living medium to explore human-nature relationships. Egami responds to light and energy, transforming spatial atmosphere into poetic presence. Together, they create a living, intercultural site-specific installation near the old posthouse.
