四万甌穴の形成過程に着想を得たインスタレーション。浅間石と金属片、液体などこの土地で集めたものを用い、素材が擦れ合う音や振動を通して、削ることと削られること、意図と無意識、行為と時間の境界を探ります。中之条の川沿いや庭先に多く見られる浅間石は、かつて火砕流や人の手によってこの地へ運ばれてきました。インスタレーションでは、強酸性の温泉水を用いて、石がゆっくりと溶けていく過程も展示します。火山、川、人の暮らし―自然と人間の関係を素材と変化のなかに映し出そうとする試みです。
An installation inspired by the formation process of the Shima’s potholes. Using Asama stones, metal fragments, liquids, and other materials collected from this area, the work explores the boundaries between erosion and being eroded, intention and unconsciousness, action and time—through the sounds and vibrations produced by materials rubbing against each other. Asama stones, often found along riversides and in gardens throughout Nakanojo, were once brought here by pyroclastic flows or human hands. Strongly acidic hot spring water is also used to display the gradual dissolution of the stones. This is an attempt to reflect the relationship between nature and humans—volcanoes, rivers, and daily life—through materials and their transformations.
