Mr. Tapa, a native of Nepal who works in the hot spring resort town of Nakanojo, came to Japan in 2016, studied hotel customer service skills at a vocational school in Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture, and now lives in Nakanojo with his family. Since coming to Japan, he has returned to Nepal twice. The house where he lived when he was a child was near the Manakamana Temple, where he played soccer. Mt. Bakreshore is also nearby. At that time, Nepalese steamed dumplings called momos cost about 20 rupees. The city of Nakanojo is surrounded by mountain ranges and overlooks Mount Takeyama, Mount Arikasa, and Mount Kazuma. I wonder if the mountains of Nakanojo overlap in Mr. Tapa’s mind with the scenery of his hometown of Bakreshore.
