中之条町に伝わる妖怪伝説「囀石（しゃべりいし）」から発想したインスタレーションである。敵を討とうと旅をしていた男がある巨石に座って休憩していると、岩が敵について教えてくれたというのだ。目に見えない世界では、全ては一つに繋がっているのかもしれない。現代のテクノロジーではスマホがあれば世界中と一瞬で繋がれるが実体がない。その隙間にいかがわしくアプローチしてくるAIは、現代の妖怪と言えるのではないでしょうか。妖怪現象を体験した人間は、何を感じるのだろう。
This installation was inspired by the legend of “chattering stones,” a legend of ghosts in Nakanojo Town. It is said that a man traveling to avenge his enemies sat down on a boulder to rest, and the rock told him about his enemies. In the invisible world, everything may be connected to one another. Modern technology allows us to be instantly connected to the rest of the world with our smartphones, but without substance. The AI that approaches this gap in a dreary way could be called a modern-day yokai. What would a human experiencing a yokai phenomenon feel?
