《漂う糸と地形》は、中之条の廃校にある教室を、静かな調和の場へと変容させます。刺繍が施された10枚のピーニャシルク（パイナップルの葉繊維布）のパネルが空気の流れに優しく揺れ、水中の静寂と、生物が漂う様を想起させます。深い青緑色は、黒板の色合いと海の深みの両方を連想させます。中之条の歴史的遺産である養蚕とフィリピンのピーニャ織りを繋ぐ本作は、インド太平洋回廊に広がる自然界の響き合いから着想を得ています。海洋生態学的および地政学的緊張がこれらの海域を形づくる中、海に棲む者たちが、静かな目撃者として浮かび上がります。そこでは、織物、水、そして動きが、瞬間的かつ感覚的な出会いの中で融合しています。
Drifting Threads and Topographies transforms an abandoned classroom in Nakanojo into a site of quiet attunement. Ten embroidered piña-silk panels sway gently with air currents, evoking the drift of underwater life and the hush of submerged spaces. Their deep teal hue recalls both chalkboard surfaces and ocean depths. Bridging Nakanojo’s legacy of sericulture with Philippine piña weaving, the work draws from elemental resonances across the Indo-Pacific corridor. Sea-dwelling figures surface as silent witnesses to the marine ecological and geopolitical tensions that shape these oceanic territories, where textile, water, and motion converge in fleeting, sensorial encounters.
