My creative practice explores the tensions of division and convergence within our volatile geopolitical world. I investigate the politics of violence and the dynamics of trauma and infliction, illuminating spaces where empathy fosters healing. My approach combines imaginative storytelling, speculative experimentation, and a hydrofeminist lens.

The sea knows no borders—only shifting currents, shared stories, and the unyielding pulse of life. Yet, headlines often reduce it to a battleground, its fluid depths constrained by lines on a map. This dissonance mirrors our collective powerlessness in the struggles over the West Philippine Sea. But what does it mean to “own” something as vast and untamable as the ocean? Can we truly claim dominion over other living beings?

I am drawn to the metaphor of water—fluid, persistent, and adaptable. Flowing with grace, it navigates obstacles and nourishes life. This resilience inspires my artistic process, driving me to seek new pathways and perspectives when faced with challenges.

Much like flowing currents overcoming barriers, the installation challenges rigid nationalistic narratives, encouraging viewers to see the ocean as a unifying force. This work reflects an ongoing journey of exploration and transformation, mirroring the infinite complexity and interconnectedness of the ocean itself.
