本作品は、ガーゼと養蚕用具を用いて、静止しつつ記憶を孕む空間を創出する。幾重にも重ねられた白布は、包み込み、吊るされ、道具や絹糸と肌のように絡み合って「第二の皮膚」として凝縮する。時に繭のように、労働と記憶の痕跡を包み込み、封じ込める。
細い糸に引かれて用具に留められたガーゼは、女性労働の見えざる歴史を想起させる。脆くも強靱な網目のようなつながりは、縫う・繕う・世話をするという繰り返しの所作を呼び起こす。これらはしばしば見過ごされながらも、生活と技を持続させるためには不可欠な行為である。
自然光がインスタレーションを透過することで、移ろう影が現れ、時間・身体・アイデンティティの層を静かに浮かび上がらせる。ここでは、親密で持続的であり、身体に刻まれた女性労働が、記憶と空間と織り合わされ、切り離せぬ存在となる。
This installation employs gauze and discarded sericulture tools to create a still, memory-laden space. Layers of white cloth wrap and suspend, intertwining with tools and silk threads like skin, condensing into a “second skin.” At times cocoon-like, they enclose traces of labor and memory. The gauze, drawn and held by fine threads to the abandoned tools, evokes the invisible history of women’s labor. These fragile yet resilient, mesh-like connections recall the repetitive gestures of sewing, mending, and caring—actions often overlooked, yet essential to sustaining both life and skill. As natural light filters through the installation, shifting shadows emerge, quietly revealing the stratification of time, body, and identity. Here, women’s labor—intimate, enduring, and inscribed in the body—interweaves with memory and space, becoming an inseparable presence.
