Lives and works in Japan.
The main preoccupation of my practise is creating spatial relationships by responding to the motifs, permanent objects and architecture within approximate location of the exhibition place. I begin with research into the history of a location. I research objects, events, people and culture, and from these findings I research what has happened in other places at the same time.
The product of this research mainly comes in the form of an architectural interaction with the space of the exhibition. But painting and spoken word performances are also being developed out of the same research.
One of the recent developments of my practice has been to follow the same research process as mentioned above develop work that is movable and adaptable as an object and to different locations. These structures allow audience to physically interact with the work through climbing crawling and sitting.
