牛乳パックの再生紙を使って作るヒトガタを使って劇場型インスタレーション作品を作っています。テーマは主に「社会と人」「自我と表現」など。
「人間」について深く知りたいと思っています。私にとって知りたい「人間」とは、個々の人を指すのではなく、集団になった時に変容する多くの人々を指します。彼らは甘やかされた子供のように振る舞い、欲望に忠実で、畏れしらず、自分は常に責任を取る立場に無いと信じているように思えます。自分達の中にもあるこの恐ろしい種の正体を知りたいのです。私の作品にしばしば登場する空っぽの子供はその象徴です。私は作品を仲介として多くの人と語り、共に考える場を提供することを目的として作品を制作しています。
I create theater-style installation works using human figures made from recycled milk cartons. The main themes are “society and people” and “self and expression.”
I want to know more about “human beings.” For me, the “humans” I want to know about do not refer to individual people, but to the many people who transform when they become a group. They behave like spoiled children, loyal to their desires, fearless, and seem to believe that they are always in a position to take responsibility. I want to know the true identity of this frightening species that exists within ourselves. The empty child that often appears in my works is a symbol of this. I create my works with the aim of using my work as a medium to talk to many people and provide a place to think together.
