中之条町出身、ロンドン在住身体表現者。
日本とヨーロッパで様々なスタイルのダンスを学ぶ。あらゆる場や、ジャンルに捉われないフィールドで作品を発表する中、身体を使った独自の表現方法を確立する。一度として同じではない舞台で、その瞬間の観客と自身が織り成す感情を、即興でありのままに飾り立てることなく表現する。近年は、その可能性を広げる為に、映像作品に力を入れている。
Masumi Saito is a movement artist trained in various dance forms. After years of performing at alternative and non traditional dance platforms, she developed her own understanding of dance and a very strong independent physical expression. She believes that improvisation is the best way to respond to the space within and reflects one’s own emotions into physical interpretation as honest and vulnerable as possible.
