Lexygius Sanchez Calip’s work and practice query the weight of gestures. He exercises a viable autonomous approach in confrontation of its common traditions. Through intuitive, dialogical, conceptual, and sensorially driven works in the field(s) of: site-specific installations and interventions, sound, performance, and new media applications, among others, the trivial quality of his process, which he regards as dialogues, highlight the context of the temporal, the spatial, and the natural—overlooked qualities of spaces and places that are familiar to us. The extant of metaphors and allegorical semiotics in his works, often frivolous in nature, convey and underscore the incorporeal and the improbable aspects of existence—the circumstantial experiences that we all share and endure.
