私は物事の本質を抽象化する過程で、形、色、質感、スケールなどの関係性を探求し、それらの要素がもたらす認識の変化やその変化の可能性を視覚化し、空間化していくことに興味をもっています。それはとても原始的で言語を必要としない感覚的なものであり、その空間的な感覚を形にしていく過程が、建築であったりアートであったりします。ですから、私にとって建築とアートは互いに切り離すことのできないものなのです。私はどんな建築においても、目的に応じながら、ワクワクするような面白い空間、落ち着く空間、嬉しくなる空間、といった、個々が幸せを感じる空間を作っていきたいと思っていますが、そういった感情が形、色、質感、スケールなどとどのように関係しているのか、どのような新たな関係性を生み出せるのかといったことをアートで探求しています。
In the process of investigating the relationship between shapes, colors, textures, and scales in the process of abstraction, I am interested in transforming such visceral, perceptual relationship and their visual and spatial understanding into intelligible forms. It is something very primitive and sensual that does not require language. For me, architecture and art are both the act of materializing such spatial sensations; therefore, they are indispensable to each other. In any architectural project, I want to create spaces that fundamentally provide happiness, which can be perceived as interesting space, exciting space, relaxing space, or joyful space, for example. Art is where I explore the relationship between these emotions and physical qualities, such as shapes, colors, textures, scales, and the possibilities of new relationships.
