近年、私は多様な「当事者性」と関わりながら、人や物とのつながりによってプロセスそのものを立ち上げる制作を行っている。共同制作や取材を重ね、プロセスに依拠し、「今、ここ」を記録している。
九州の特産品である柑橘の皮を集め、アロマをつくり、さらに肥料へと循環させ柑橘の樹を育てるプロセスには、地域の訪問看護ステーションの人々を招いた。高齢化や人口減少が進むこの地域で、焚き火を囲む交流を交えながら、香りや揺らぎといった形をとどめないものを作品とし、共同体形成を試みた。そこでは、人間の治癒と植物の再生が重なる。
以前には、ドイツ・ミュンスターの精神医療施設 Alexianer Münster 内のアール・ブリュット、アートセラピーの美術館兼スタジオ Kunsthaus Kannen でのインターン中に、所属作家 Wilke Klees と絵画を制作。また、同時期に、母屋やライフラインを自ら整えて暮らすワゴンコミュニティでの絵画制作も行った。これらの背景には、4コマ漫画や法廷画といった生活に身近な手法から受けたインスピレーションがある。
社会を形成する誰もが異なる当事者性と共に生き、それぞれの経験が世界を形作っている。この理解のもと、孤独や孤立に耳を傾け、「心が整い、喜びをシェアする」アートを実現する。これは、私が考えるコンテンポラリーアートであり、アール・ブリュットから大きな栄養を得ている。
In recent years, I have been creating works that emerge from the very process of connection—with people, objects, and diverse forms of “subjectivity.” Through collaborative creation and interviews, I focus on the process itself and record the “here and now.”
In Kyushu, I gathered citrus peels, a local specialty, to create aromas, which were then further repurposed into fertilizer to nurture citrus trees. For this process, I invited people from a local home-visit nursing station to participate. In this region, where aging and depopulation are progressing, I facilitated communal experiences around bonfires, transforming intangible elements like scent and flickering flames into artworks that foster community building. In this way, human healing and plant regeneration overlap.
Previously, while interning at Kunsthaus Kannen, an Art Brut and art therapy museum-studio within the psychiatric care facility Alexianer Münster in Germany, I collaborated on paintings with resident artist Wilke Klees. During the same period, I also engaged in painting within a wagon community, where residents built their own homes and infrastructure. These experiences were inspired by familiar artistic methods such as four-panel manga and courtroom sketches.
Everyone in society lives with different forms of subjectivity, and each individual experience shapes the world. With this understanding, I strive to realize an art that listens to solitude and isolation—one that “brings peace of mind and shares joy.” This is my vision of contemporary art, deeply nourished by Art Brut.
