パスパルトゥー・デュオ

音楽を背景として、音を中心にさまざまな方法を使ったコンセプチュアルな作品を展開する。私たちのアプローチは、私たちが音楽を作り、聴き、つながる方法を再考することに集中している。

私たちが作曲する音楽は、複雑なシステムやアーキテクチャを用いて、インスタレーション、録音、アコースティック楽器、電子楽器を使ったライブパフォーマンスとして表現される。さらなる制作方法を得ることへの絶え間ない熱意、音楽を通して世界を体験する新しい方法への途切れぬ興味、そして捨てられた物に新しい意味を与える試み。これらすべてが、私たちの作品のベースとなり、私たちが社会の関係性と現代の問題への解釈を与えることを可能にする。

私たちは国際的に活動する独立した2人のクリエーターだ。私たち自身については、現代のアーティストとして主流とは異なる生活方法を伝え、世界のさまざまな場での生き方を見つけるプラットフォームだと見なしている。

私は絵を描いている。
生きている状態、動き続ける光景を描きたい。
なのになぜ、絵の具は乾き、固まってしまうのか?
私は、絶えず変容する姿を描くため、流動性を用いた“Alive painting” を始めた。

“Alive painting” では、様々な性質を持つ材料を用い、相互に反応させることで絵を描く。それによって、要素の流れと色彩がもたらす美的な快楽と、生々流転をその場に現すことを試みる。材料の化学的性質に加え、風、重力、振動などの外的要因によって予期せぬ反応が現れてくるので、二度と再現不能の景色がゆるやかに出現し、その経験そのものを鑑賞者と共有する。色の差異を即時的に画像解析、デジタル処理することによって音を発生させるカラーオルガンシステム“Fluid2wave” と、さまざまな周波数の音波によって絵に波をおこす、自身による即興詩作等、音も絵も同時に呼応するソロパフォーマンスを行う。

一個人的な視点と、広く世界を捉える視点を同時に表現することができる絵の可能性を感じており、液体でつくる現象や色彩を、河川や生物、自分も含めたメタファーとして作品の中に登場させ、物語の始まるところを共有する。

すべての生物、物質はそれぞれのリズムを持って姿を変えてゆく。

流動と色彩によってもたらされる気韻生動を’Alive’ と定義して、私はこれからも、2つの物事によって現れる境界線の美しさ。

Coming from a musical background, we develop interdisciplinary and conceptual works that put sound at the center. Our approach focuses on reconsidering the modalities through which we create, listen to, and connect with music.

The music we compose is anchored in complex systems and architectures ultimately presented in the form of installations, recordings, and live performances with acoustic and electronic instruments. A constant enthusiasm for expanding our own creative tools, an ongoing fascination with new ways of experiencing the world through music, and our attempts to give new contexts to discarded materialities, all play a fundamental role in our body of work and allow us to give an interpretation to social dynamics and issues of the contemporary world.

As two independent creators working internationally, we see our duo as a platform to propose an alternative life as artists in the contemporary world and to discover ways of life in different locations in the world.

AKIKO NAKAYAMA

I am a painter.

I would like to paint living things and convey energy metamorphosis.
But, Why is a painting dry? Why isn’t a painting alive?

So, I was inspired to start “Alive Painting” my current work. Combining the energy of movement and the vibrant of colors, I bring pictures to life.
I depict the resonance between shapes and textures by using different types of liquids, each with a unique characteristic.
How the materials interact with each other is influenced by external factors, such as wind, sound, humidity, gravity,time…etc.
In recent years, I have performed solo live acts using a colour-organ system called “Fluid2wave”.
This system uses soundtracks and sound effects to accompany the digital projection of the live color painting.

​My work of art is an abstract metaphor of various aspect of nature through the use of colors and fluidity, and attempts to celebrate the moments of beauty amidst the ephemerality of life.

Life has different wavelengths. So, I create work of art with various materials and forms of media to capture each passing moments.
I’m interested in the beauty of the boundary between 2 colors. To me, the meeting of 2 colors represents the dance of Yin and Yang.
