伝統的手法と最新技術両方を駆使して、様々な領域で表現をしている。近年、紐を使った場に呼応したインスタレーションや、作曲家T・ブリチェノとの音も含めた共同制作も行う。文化の歴史的物語や制作を取り巻く環境に興味があり、人類学的、史学的に出来事や建築物の背景を辿る。作品は制作経過で偶発するのではなくコンセプトによるべきで、ふさわしい表現には、まず概念がきっかけになり、それが発展し洗練され、数々の展示や滞在制作、講義や本へと繋がってきた。
I am a multi-disciplinary artist using both traditional media and new technologies, more recently I have been working on site –specific installations using yarn and more recently working collaboratively with a composer Toby Bricheno introducing sound.
I am interested in cultural and historical narratives, involving working environments, traces of activity and architecture, archaeological references and archives. The work is concept not process driven, by using the concept first as a trigger for the appropriate medium, which is then developed and refined over the course of numerous exhibitions, residencies, lectures and books.
