現場での制作を軸に、絵画におけるリアリティを追求しています。
対象物を目の前にしながら描き留めることは、極めてシンプルでプリミティヴな行為ですが、果たして人間は、そのことをやり尽くしたと言い切れるでしょうか。写真の登場以来、一見、再現的な絵画の意味は限りなく失われてしまったとも見受けられるその一方で、様々な技術やメディアが発達すればするほど、そこに付随するアナログならではの側面が露わになるとともに、未だ開拓の余地があることも明らかになってきているのではないかと考えています。
また、現場での制作において、その都度描き重ねる・直すことで、図らずも現れる間違いやズレなどの”辻褄の合わなさ”、そして描く際に発生する絵画特有の”遅さ”なども絡み合いながら、それらが絵具の層として画面に織り込まれることにも意味を見出そうとしています。

I pursue reality in painting, through on-site working in front of the object.
To paint a picture while keeping in front of the objectーit is a simple and primitive act, but can we truly say that humans have accomplished it? Since the advent of photography, it appears that the meaning of realism painting has been largely lost. But, on the other hand, the more various technologies and media develop, the more importance of the analog aspects associated with them are revealed. I think it is becoming clear that there is still room for further development of them.
When repainting and revising, I am also faced with the possibility of inconsistencies such as unexpected mistakes or discrepancies, which are intertwined with the “slowness” that is unique to painting and woven into the canvas as layers of paint. I am trying to find out meaning of this pictorial process.
