幼少期より、芸術的な鑑賞行為と科学的な観察は私の中でほぼ同義のものとして存在していた。
また、そこに宿る緻密な技法やマテリアルへの関心と、自然科学的な法則への関心も同じレイヤー上に存在するものとして認識されてきた。
その意味で、アートとサイエンス、またテクノロジーといったものは、自身の内側で明確に区別されず、溶け合っている。
そのような感覚をベースとして、サイエンティフィックなモチーフを扱うとともに、近年は、特に「見ること」にフォーカスし、見ることそのものを見る、あるいは観察することを観察するような、体験型のインスタレーション作品を制作している。
Since my childhood, artistic appreciation and scientific observation have existed almost synonymously in my mind. Furthermore, the interest in the intricate techniques and materials involved, as well as the curiosity toward the laws of natural science, have been recognized as existing on the same layer. In this sense, art, science, and technology have not been clearly distinguished within me, but rather, they merge together.
Based on this feeling, while dealing with scientific motifs, in recent years I have particularly focused on “seeing.” I create experiential installation works that involve seeing the act of seeing itself, or observing the act of observation.
