私は「紙」を扱っている。「紙」は、繊維の絡まりによって成り立つ構造物である。加えて、世界中のあらゆる場所でその環境に沿った異なる方法で作られ、様々な目的に向けて発展してきたことを鑑みれば、すでにそれ自体が人間の物語を内包するひとつのオブジェクトであると考えることができる。その構造やプロセスを辿り、成り立ちを問うことによって、その物語を紐解き、現在と重ね合わせていく。
Paper always gives me an incentive. Paper is the structure of intertwined fibers. There is a fact that paper has been made in various places around the world in different ways according to the environment and it has been developed for various purposes. Considering this fact, we can say that paper itself can be already considered as an object including our human story in itself. I will unravel the story and superimpose it with “now” by tracing the paper structure and process, and questioning its origins.
