この作品は、衣服が持つアイデンティティについて、その文化的な表現との関係性を探ります。100年前の手書き文書や手織りの絹布を用いて、着物という概念と、その歴史的変遷を解体的に再考します。来場者は実際に紙製の衣装を試着し、その感触を体感することができます。展示には、ヨーロッパと日本における織物の異文化交流の歴史に関する研究も併設します。
The artwork explores the identity of clothing in relation to its cultural representation. Created using century-old handwritten papers and handwoven silk, it deconstructs the concept of the kimono and its evolution over time. Visitors are invited to try on and experience some of the paper garments for themselves. The display is accompanied by research into the intercultural history of textiles between Europe and Japan.
