On the first floor of this Sawatari gallery, there is a corner enclosed by wooden boards. Inside the enclosure, there are remains of someone’s former residence, such as a bed, a shelf, a heater, and tableware. A room where one sleeps is usually the most private place, and is not something to be willingly shown to others. When I found out that there was such a private space unseen in this building named “gallery,” which is a “place to show something to the public,” I felt as if the air suddenly turned over. Reproducing this “private life” only with the perspective of dimensional drawings, I am holding an exhibition that is both ”private” and ”public”.
