Agatsuma Chuo High School is proud of its achievements, having won the top prize at the Agricultural Club Plane Surveying Competition. In the “Measuring the Earth Workshop,” an art and science communication activity that allows students to experience the importance of measuring accurately, students enlarge the original drawing using plane surveying techniques to draw a giant geoglyph. The work, “La Anamorphose,” is a French word meaning “distorted image,” and is a design technique that appears normal when viewed from a certain perspective or with certain tools. It is commonly known as the sign next to a soccer goal, where a flat figure is actually drawn at an angle on the ground but appears upright on a television screen.
