たけやまてんぐの弦楽器 Takeyama Tengu no Gengakki

弦楽器職人である作者は「エオリアンハープ」という楽器を製作しています。
自然に吹く風によって音が奏でられる弦楽器で、ギリシャ時代から存在していたともいわれています。
本来は目に見えない風の存在を、音響彫刻によって可視化・可聴化し、表現した作品です。
たけやまには天狗の伝説があり、山の姿にも天狗の名がつけられています。
たけやまに張られたワイヤーロープを、天狗が張った弦に見立てて、実際に風で振動するワイヤーの音を聴くことができる音響彫刻作品です。

The artist, a stringed instrument craftsman, creates an instrument called the Aeolian harp. This stringed instrument, whose sound is produced by natural wind, is said to have existed since Greek times. This work expresses the existence of wind, otherwise invisible, by making it visible and audible through sound sculpture.

There is a legend of a Tengu at Mount Takeyama, and the mountain’s peaks are named after the Tengu. The wire ropes stretched across Mount Takeyama are likened to strings stretched by the Tengu, and the sound of the wires vibrating in the wind can be heard in this sound sculpture.
